Successfully defended school district against a former teacher’s claim of First Amendment retaliation
and substantive due process right violations in federal district court. |

Successfully defended school district and employees in federal district court from students claiming procedural due process and equal protection violations, as well as disability discrimination, in connection with student disciplinary matters. |

In an appeal to the federal district court, successfully overturned decision of a special education hearing officer who held that a school district violated a student's rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. |

| Represented students and teachers in suit in which they claimed public accommodation discrimination
while traveling in connection with a school event. Result: confidential settlement. |

| Successfully defended a school district against a lawsuit filed by a former building and grounds employee who claimed personal injuries arising from long-term exposure to landscaping chemicals. Plaintiff eventually dismissed the suit. |

Successfully obtain jury verdict for client who had sued a third party to recover community property
retirement accounts and other funds that the client’s spouse had fraudulently conveyed to her. |

Successfully obtain judgment for client to rescind a deed and to recover property lost due to another
party’s breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, conversion, and trespass to try title. |

Represented clients sued by a former business colleague claiming the parties had formed a partnership
to operate an automobile repair shop. Clients countersued for declaratory judgment, fraud, breach of
fiduciary duty to principal, and conversion. After successfully obtaining partial summary judgment
against some of plaintiff’s claims, the parties reached a confidential, mediated settlement. |

Represented contractor who performed fire restoration work for home owner valued at half a million
dollars for unpaid services. Result: confidential, mediated settlement. |

Represented labor staffing firm against company who was accused of breaching its contract with the
firm and tortiously interfering its relationship with its temporary workers by inducing them to move to a
different staffing firm. Result: confidential, mediated settlement. |

Represented borrower against financial institution accused of failing to recognize the client’s right of
rescission under the Truth in Lending Act and violating the Texas Debt Collection Act and the Texas
Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Result: confidential, mediated settlement. |

Sued contractor on behalf of owner of apartment complex who had performed shoddy plumbing
construction work and damaged the premises. After contractor filed for bankruptcy, successfully obtained
settlement with contractor’s insurer. |

Successfully obtained arbitration award for roofing contractor from owner of commercial building who
had refused to pay for construction work, which was later confirmed as a judgment. |
|
Represented client sued in his individual capacity for breaches of contract and warranty and violations
of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act in connection with a foundation construction job. Claim dismissed
after successfully obtaining summary judgment against plaintiffs. |

Sued property management firm for breach of contract fiduciary duty for failing to maintain accurate
books and records and withholding rent receipts and for failing to be properly licensed as a broker under
state law. Obtained settlement after successfully obtaining pre-judgment writ of garnishment. |
